Southern Water was Simon’s first solo album and was released in September 1992. It is a suite of instrumental soundscapes inspired by the great southern coast of Victoria. His second album, Southern Dreaming, was released in September 1993, and continues Simon's love affair with this region. Simon composed, performed, and produced both albums, as well as recording the natural sounds at selected locations along the Great Ocean Road, including the Port Campbell National Park and Otways Forest.
